Office Building - Haiti C&I, 2018

A global first – this installation was completed for an international organization that works to save and improve children’s lives and is the largest solar project yet for the organization. It is also the first with renewable generation and energy storage capable of powering all operations. This solar project is a demonstration of multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), specifically Climate Action, Renewable Energy and Gender Empowerment. The UNSDGs are sustainable development principles applicable to all countries and actionable for all citizens. Lack of reliable grid access and expensive fossil fuels make market-based solar solutions particularly attractive in Haiti. This seminal project was developed by 10Power, a company building renewable ecosystems in markets that lack access to reliable electrical grids. The installation was completed by Haiti-based installers 121 Consulting and provided training opportunities for women engineering students in Haiti Tec University and Solar Electric Light Fund’s solar technician program.
