PV+BESS plant in fully off-grid environment

The inauguration of the landmark Cazombo Photovoltaic Park energy project marks the beginning of a large-scale hybrid power plant rollout across Angola. The program initiated directly by the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) intends to bring power to over one million people in rural Angola.

All projects are situated in fully off-grid environments, requiring grid-forming and black-start capable systems. Cazombo features a PV+BESS hybrid plant with 25 MWp solar power and 75 MWh battery storage capacity.

The site is part of broader project pipeline with a combined battery capacity exceeding 500 MWh.
