PV+BESS plant in fully off-grid environment

This program initiated directly by the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) intends to bring power to over one million people in rural Angola.

All projects are situated in fully off-grid environments, requiring grid-forming and black-start capable systems. Luau Photovoltaic Park, the second and largest delivered under Angola’s rural electrification project, features a PV + BESS hybrid plant with 32 MWp solar power and 89 MWh battery storage capacity.

This site is part of a broader project pipeline with a combined battery capacity exceeding 500 MWh.
